If you are generally happy with the fit, leave the helmet on for a good length of time to ensure it is not pressing in places that are not immediately apparant. Give the helmet a push from the front towards the forehead to see if it gives you any pain or discomfort. If you are in the UK and of interest, I am selling the camera as it isn't really useable for my type of riding (lots of off road).
When it arrived, the camera looked great, really solid and well thought out mostly, and the specs on the box implied it was going to be perfect by offering 4k, stabilisation, 7hr battery life, etc. The innovative rotating 360º lens and slim line form of the Drift Ghost XL Pro make this action camera stand out in a competitive market. Such a poor resolution would not record the registration number of a vehicle at a three-meter distance. With exceptional battery life and excellent durability, the Ghost XL is one of the best action cameras for adventure enthusiasts! complete with ALL tags in place, helmet bag, manual, protective plastic on visor and any other associated parts supplied.
The Drift Ghost XL Pro beats the ease of use and mount options of any other camera on the market by a long stretch. Position inside a helmet, close to your engine or placed away from direct wind, giving you amazing sound of that engine or you narrating your adventures. There are also no in-built story modes or many other fancy features or modules that we have come to expect from GoPro or Insta360; the Drift Ghost XL Pro is just a pure no-fuss action camera.
While many now offer intelligent horizon levelling, the quality of the video footage cannot match that of the Drift Ghost XL Pro, which can shoot a level horizon natively.
Video tagging lets you capture the last 5 minutes of an event by hitting record, going back in time and capturing what you want when you want. Over the winter period I decided to give it another go, as I do like the camera and the battery life, and also having a video record of anything that should happen if the worst comes to the worst. It doesn’t try to please everyone or cram in all the features you can think of; it just provides you with the core, and there’s a lot to say. The buttons do multiple things so you end up pressing them a few times until you find the right one.In addition to the built in mic, for sound recording flexibility add the external Drift microphone (sold separately). EIS is as standard as is the LCD rear screen, flashback tagging, a dash cam recording mode, and built-in Wifi and BlueTooth enable you to connect to the remote. I have now changed the settings to record HDR and if that cures my problem I will be very happy but as yet I have been unable to test it! Does the camera require a waterproof case when out in heavy rain that we have here in sunny Scotland?
